Nike Ayo is a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. She realizes that the decision to seek support in dealing with some of life’s struggles by choosing counselling can be difficult, thus, it is with humility that she offers to come alongside her clients to help lighten the load as they journey toward a better tomorrow. She has a passion for helping clients to flourish and thrive as she supports them along their journey toward greater holistic wellness in mind, body, and spirit. Indeed, cultivating the wellness and empowerment of individuals to rise above adversary and live healthy lives, holistically speaking, is at the core of Nike’s therapeutic practice. In addition to holding a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, she also possesses a master’s degree and Ph.D. in the field of health promotion whereby her research focused on the connection between spirituality and holistic wellness. Nike sees her fundamental role as a therapist is to help draw out the best in people and support them along their journey towards healing and growth as they move toward their greater potential.

Nike’s approach to counselling is person-centred, which means that she values the unique qualities of her clients’ experiences and who they are as a person. One size does not fit all. She takes a genuine stance and upholds the utmost positive regard for each client that she sees no matter their background. Her therapeutic approach is informed by Emotion Focused Therapy and Attachment Theory, she also uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Nike enjoys working with a wide range of populations including adults, teenagers, and couples with varying struggles. She also offers a spiritually integrated approach informed by Christian spirituality to those who desire such perspective as she understands the important role that faith can play in people’s lives.
